Economic Development

The Municipality has a vision for the future and has qualified this vision with finite goals. The current council and its supporters see the area as primed for controlled growth in light industry, a beautiful residential area for retirees, commuters and local residents, and a desirable tourist and visitor destination.

These goals are being translated into action through the following: programs to provide additional serviced industrial land available for industrial development, upgrading facilities and public structures through government programs which encourage redevelopment, maintenance of historic sites, and actively promoting the advantages of a rural community to businesses, future residents, and visitors.
